Bargain?

Let's talk money shall we?

I love looking for blogs with great craft/decor ideas  

that are cheap and affordable.

The hubby and I just bought a house last year,

we have bare walls and not a ton of money,

we are trying to install a yard this summer

that our builder was supposed to help pay for

but that is another story for another time.

The problem I have with these blogs is when they say

hey I have a cheap but great idea

for such and such project,

I get so excited my heart starts beating a little faster and I get a

rush of Adrenalin.

I start looking at the project and think this is exactly what I was looking for.

The tutorial looks super easy.

Then it shows all of the supplies...awesome! 

Then how much it cost.

What the?! That project cost $100 and that is considered cheap?

I start thinking well I couldn't buy something like that

for $100 so I guess it is a great deal but honestly where

am I going to come up with a 100 bucks to make this

thing that would be perfect in my house?

Does this make me cheap? Am I being unreasonable?

I understand that it kind of depends on the item being made, but

still a cheap project to me is like 20 bucks!

I am a bargain hunter from hell and so for me to drop 100 bucks

I must really love something or know that is the best deal I could

ever find. Even after I make the decision I still have to save my money

and think about the purchase forever.

If I am going to make the item then

it better be super duper affordable.

Love Cats!

In continuing with my "flashback" music I have been listening to, I couldn't leave out one of my favorite bands, The Cure.

Love cats is a different song and of course it is The Cure
so the video is a little kooky but that is why it is so great.
The video was hard to find so the quality isn't the best but the song is the big part anyways.

What's in a name?

but when it comes to a title....

I am at a complete loss. Am I the only one?

Feeling Nostalgic

Today I am feeling a little nostalgic. I have been loving all of the music from my childhood that has been popping up on my iPod, including this little ditty.

Yes that is The Jets! If you don't know who they are then you definitely need to give it a listen. They are a family band that was around in the 80's, yes I just dated myself. Notice the big hair and synthesizers. I have to say thank you to my brother in law Josh for giving me their greatest hits on my iPod which reminded me how much I loved them.

I love music from my childhood which is comprised from oldies to country and everything else inbetween. I think I might just start sharing some of my favorite songs and memories, from back in the day even though it starts making me feel old.

About Me

I am not sure what to post today so I thought I would do a short list about me:

1. I hate HATE the feel of cotton balls, I get chills just thinking about it.....seriously

2. I know the lyrics to more songs then I should. I get this from my dad who seems to know every song on the radio

3. I do Not like hamburgers. I know I am probably not a great American because of this but I can't eat them.

4. I am seriously addicted to chapstick I always have it on me

5. I love to clean my house when I am stressed but I never like doing the dishes

6. My favorite candy is the big, flat Laffy Taffy in Jerry Cherry flavor

7. I am additcted to Coke but never the diet stuff

8. I have to have a glass of water by my bed at night

9. Martha Stewart, love her. She is the reason I had to have a Kitchenaid mixer

10. I am a little obsessed with anything wedding, I think I might want to be a wedding planner someday.

Plans Can Change

Last weekend we didn't get to our movie.........why??

Because this little guy was born one week ago on Friday night.

So of course I had to go see him, his beautiful mommy and awesome daddy. What a sweet little guy I wish I could hold him all the time. I hope his mommy doesn't mind me sharing a picture, I just had to show you how cute he is. He is my first nephew and I couldn't be more excited.

Random Ramblings

I love this show

Watched it from the get-go and I still watch every Tuesday. Is it cheesy? If you have to ask then you obviously haven't watched it. But to answer that question it is so super, gooey, cheesy but that is why I love it. 

How awesome would it be if everyone was able to sing everything they are feeling or break out into a lovely rendition of "Take a Bow" in the middle of the hall with the wind machines blowing and everyone around you is acting like it isn't happening. Sweet!!!

I want a thunderstorm. But not a one clap of thunder and a few sprinkles, a real, loud, house rumbling, cats and dogs rain storm. I feel like we haven't had one of those since I was little.

I wish that our builder would put in our side yard like the HOA rules say they should have, 

since we live on a corner.

 We have been arguing them for months with nothing but them installing our parking strip. 

Don't get me wrong we loved our builder and our house is great but the yard is expensive and it should have been done when we moved in. 

We will just have to suck it up and put it in ourselves because we have to have our back/side yard in by July 1.

Hair

As excited as I am about Spring starting to show it's face

 I hate it when the seasons change

because my hair has so much static

and if it isn't sticking out it is flat on my face.

New Blog

So you may wonder why I decided to change blogs and maybe you don't.

Anyways I was looking through my old blogs and realized that

they weren't really me.

Sure they were posts about me and some of my feelings but I felt like I filtered myself too much and that wasn't kosher with me.

Anyways I know the hubs worries about what is shared on the internet so things may change in the future but for now here we are, a

new day.

Best-laid plans

So this weekend I will be making some more of these:

My baby sister's birthday was on Tuesday and

I am not sure when we are going to celebrate,
so we may not make it to the movies.

watching a little Ax Men, yes we are kind of nerds at home.
Hopefully things turn out ok.... 

New

New year, new blog.

I know it is already March but life has been a little crazy lately.

Anyways I liked the stuff I had posted in my other blogs
but still I needed a change.

I don't deal well with big changes
but little changes like

my cutting my hair, re-arranging furniture or
making a new blog

I can definitely deal with and it makes life a
little more exciting.
